Food For Thought Tuesday

There is more to write about the Trump Doctrine, but it could literally become several doctoral theses in the years to come. Meantime, there is a lot of good food for thought out there, and I’m going to share some of it here.

Older, but still worth the read is why there won’t be a draft or WWIII.

How Dare You Not Include Us??? The real reason behind some of the strong reaction.

The media misses not one, but many huge stories. This is but one of them.

Is Donald Trump writing a farewell letter to the Middle East? An interesting possibility.

If anyone thinks that Journolist is dead, take a look around. One good example

I agree that the leadership of the Democratic party hates Trump with a passion that leaves them no way, no room, to love anything else. To that end, they have embraced the enemies of the United States as a mean to defeat Trump. Just one part of the mask slipping. For them, it doesn’t matter if Americans are killed or the interests of the United States and its Citizens are compromised — all that matters is winning and defeating Trump.

A companion piece to the excellent story linked yesterday in the discussion of the Trump Doctrine. Read it, and try not to weep.

A Never-Trumper has an epiphany. Now if we could only get Rod Dreher, who’s writing on faith and issues in various churches I read somewhat religiously, to quit clutching his pearls, pissing his panties, declaring FlounceCon1, and flouncing to his fainting couch every time Trump inhales…

The media is in the tank for the DNC, and would be willing to die (literally, I suspect) to protect the illusion and reputation (such as it is) of Obama. But one example is this cringe-worthy effort out of the rapidly tanking CNN.

More questions than answers. Have to agree, the news reporting today does bring that out.

The world is indeed watching, and not just the Iranian leadership. U.S. leadership, and the leadership of the so-called free world, is being watched as well. The masks are slipping, will they come completely off in the days to come?

Random Thoughts On A Friday Morning

The Katie Hill story has it all: power, privilege, sex, betrayal. A politician has multiple affairs with staff members of both sexes. How old were some of them? What’s more, it appears to have been a pattern with that politician. In the age of #metoo, it would be grounds for running that politician out of town on a rail.

But, this is a female politician of the democratic persuasion. The woman card has been played. The divorce/revenge card has been played. Major media outlets are focusing on that, while refusing to report on the events, and are doing their best to put the original, and highly professional, investigative reporting by Jennifer Van Larr at RedState into either a negative light (eeeevil conservatives!) or by pretending it doesn’t exist.

Stealing a great line, remember that modern journalism is all about covering important stories, with a pillow until they quit moving.

On this story, and on several others involving the inquiry now criminal investigation of the whole Russian hoax, it is also very clear (yet again) to anyone willing to watch that JournoList is (and has been) up and running. Most of us knew that was the case within weeks of the original being outed.

That outing has been the subject of a number of rumors: that it was by someone upset at the perversion of the journalistic code of ethics (it was); that it was by a closet conservative; that it was by someone who didn’t feel it was progressive enough (I can see that); or, take your pick.

I will say this: the new JournoList is to be commended for whatever security they put in place. So far, it seems to be holding, though I’m not sure for how long that will last. Remember, progressives always end up eating their own.

Some Thoughts For A Monday

I’ve said for years, as the few of you still reading will remember, that any time the media all points at the same thing and shouts, look in the opposite direction. Anyone laboring under the idea that Journolist is dead is not paying attention.

Case in point, Hillary’s seemingly bizarre claim that Tulsi Gabbard is being groomed by the Russians to help rig the election via a third party candidacy. Nuts, right? Or, could it be Hillary killing two birds with one stone?

Hillary has a beef with Tulsi going back to 2016 when Tulsi left her post at the DNC and went to work for Bernie. Worse, she called out Hillary and the DNC for rigging the primaries. Thou shalt do nothing to thwart Hillary or to make her look bad in the press, after all. There is a reason the DNC has tried to thwart her campaign at almost every turn.

While not very well covered in the MSM, who in fact seem determined to cover the story with a pillow until it quits moving, the results of a State Department investigation into what Hillary e-mails remain (and keep in mind a lot of them officially were destroyed by her) were announced. It seems some 38 people, unnamed, were “culpable” in some 91 cases of sending classified info to Hillary’s personal e-mail that was unsecure. The same server that was sending copies of every e-mail to China…

So, you need to draw attention away from a potentially damaging report, and you have a grudge against a primary candidate who could indeed be a threat to whomever is the DNC “Chosen One” both in the primaries and as a potential third party candidate. You also have some additional constraints, including not wanting to do anything that would point towards the Ukraine where most people have missed the fact that a DNC server that was hacked is being held. What to do, what to do?

Hillary is many things, but stupid when it comes to politics is not one of them. She also still has friends and allies in the media; plus, she can trust the media to be itself. So let it rip.

Notice what is in the media? Stories about the “bizarre” allegation by Hillary. Multiple stories from multiple angles. Notice what’s not in the media? Yep.

Whenever the media all points and shouts, look around. There is always something, or even several somethings, they do not want you to see.
