While I am no longer a member of the Roman Catholic church, I have said a prayer for his soul and also prayed for that church. I was not a fan of Pope Francis, though I had hoped for the best when he was elected. That said, I do encourage prayers for his soul and for that church. Personally, I think they could do a lot worse than to look at Cardinal Sarah. To all Roman Catholics, my condolences on the loss.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers for both Pope Francis and the Catholic Church. I, too, pray for his soul, and that he will receive mercy and forgiveness for any of his failings.
Every Pope from the very first (Peter) has been human and subject to human failings; Francis was no different. Still, he led our Church to promote the welfare of the downtrodden, and to help them find paths to improving their lives. Also, he promoted evangelization, needed to grow the Church, and even faith within the Church.
As to his failings, I don’t need to go into those… his critics are many and their complaints are very public. I simply pray that those critics can recognize the good that he accomplished, and that they can find it in their hearts to forgive him for what they thought was wrong.
Well said!
